A source of information concerning techniques and procedures for extemporaneous compounding, both traditional and high technology. Secundum Artem is designed for pharmacists who compound prescriptions: nonsterile and sterile, traditional and high technology. It is often through the proper compounding of prescription medication that individualization of patient therapy can be achieved. The compounding activities of pharmacists have expanded and become very diverse, and there is a shortage of information available for the pharmacy student and the practitioner for training and continuing education in this field.
